Armstrong Maina, CPP®, PCI®, PSP®, CSMP®, F. ISMI is currently the Global Security Manager with Population Services International (PSI) since 2018 and based in Nairobi, Kenya. The role supports building safety and security capacity in PSI offices and strengthening the ability to program in difficult environments. Also serves as a primary point of contact for country security focal points and country directors globally on any number of security issues and questions.
Previously worked with International Medical Corps as a country and roving security manager from 2009 -16. Served as a security officer for Somalia NGO Consortium in 2008. Before joining the humanitarian sector, I served as a trainer with the Kenya Police Service from 2004 - 08. Armstrong has a Master of Arts degree in Armed Conflict and Peace Studies and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Outside of working, he is passionate about environment conservation and serves as a Rotarian.
