Javeria Malik is an experienced Communications and Security Risk Management professional with around 15 years of experience advising non-profit organisations on media and communication strategies as well as security risk management standards and practices. She is an experienced crisis manager, trainer, and analyst with a focus on humanitarian contexts, disasters and emergencies, and political risk management in the context of social justice activism.
Javeria offers feminist perspectives on security risk management from the Global South and a wealth of lived experiences and frontline exposure from some of the world’s most challenging environments where non-profit organisations operate. She holds an MA in International Journalism (UK), MBA with major in Branding and Finance (Pakistan) and MSc in Mass Communication (Pakistan).
Javeria is currently associated with ActionAid, an international human rights based federation, as their Global Safety & Security Advisor. She’s also a speaker on intersectional safety and security issues and regularly contributes to global discussions and research studies.
